 Vladimír Rejlek belongs among the Czech elite of trumpet players. He was born in Tábor. He studied at the Conservatoire, followed by studies at the Academy of Arts in Prague. He is a winner of the International Competition of the Prague Spring festival from 1978 and a laureate of the Toulon competition in France. These successes launched his international concert career. He has been appearing as a soloist in Europe and Japan. His repertoire covers literature of all music epochs, with special interest in Baroque and contemporary music. He was a solo trumpet player of the Opera orchestra of the National Theatre in Prague for many years. He is a senior lecturer at the Academy of Arts in Prague, being a head of the trumpet section. His numerous studio recordings complete his rich artistic career.
